D7R Series II (S/N: AEC1-UP; ABJ1-UP; ACS1-UP; ADW1-UP; AGN1-UP; AFG1-UP; BRP1-UP; BNM1-UP; BRN1-UP; BNX1-UP; BPT1-UP; BPK1-UP)

Description of Change: New belts, a new crankshaft pulley, a new alternator bracket, and a new alternator pulley are now used to increase service life of the belts on the D7R Series II Track-Type Tractor. If you are experiencing low belt life, check your machine for the latest parts. New software is also used to provide low idle charging capabilities. Refer to the Tables 1 and 2 for the correct parts for your machine.

Adaptable To: The new belts and pulleys are adaptable to D7R Series II Track-Type Tractors. If your machine matches one of the serial numbers in the list below, refer to Table 1.

( 6 ) Part is required to provide low idle charging capabilities. See Service Magazine, SEPD0763, "New Software is Now Used to Ensure Charging at Low Speed".
Parts that are used on current production are shown in the column of New Part Numbers. A new alternator pulley is now used. The machine may be equipped with a standard alternator or a sealed alternator. Either alternator will provide adequate low idle charging with the new alternator pulley. The machine may be equipped with a Shielded 204-7449 Alternator. The shielded alternator must be exchanged for a 197-8820 Alternator Gp in order to ensure battery charging at low speed. Refer to the Service Magazine, SEPD0756, "An Improved Alternator for Applications With Debris is Now Available" for this procedure. The machine may also be equipped with a 200-8277 Alternator Gp. You must change to a 197-8820 Alternator Gp in order to ensure battery charging at low speed. Refer to the Service Magazine, SEPD0653, "A New Alternator Has Greater Durability" for this procedure. A new alternator bracket is used. Both the new alternator bracket and the old alternator bracket have the same part number. The new version has the engineering change (5) on the bracket. New software will enable elevated idle of 1100 rpm. See Service Magazine, SEPD0763, "New Software is Now Used to Ensure Charging at Low Engine Speed".

In cases of near acceptable belt life, it may be advisable to try all the current parts except the new crankshaft pulley. If the machine is equipped with banded belts, using the new crankshaft pulley and all other current parts is required.
