NOTICE |
---|
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
NOTICE |
---|
Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
NOTICE |
---|
Do not allow dirt to enter the fuel system. Thoroughly clean the area around a fuel system component that will be disconnected. Fit a suitable cover over disconnected fuel system component. |
Note: Put identification marks on all hose assemblies, on all tube assemblies, and on all wires for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This will help prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
- Disconnect tube assembly (2) and tube assembly (3) from fuel manifold (4).
- Disconnect hose assembly (5) from fuel manifold (4).
- Remove check valve (6).
- Disconnect the harness assembly and remove fuel temperature sensor (1). Remove the O-ring seal from the fuel temperature sensor.
- Disconnect the harness assembly and remove fuel outlet temperature sensor (8). Remove the O-ring seal from the fuel outlet temperature sensor.
- Remove bolts (7). Remove fuel manifold (4) from the cylinder block.
