Cat Service Tools has released a new, variable crimping hose machine. This state-of-the-art machine integrates Caterpillar's Crimputer II controller with a radial crimping hose machine. This machine will crimp permanent couplings on all hose types except 1543 and sizes up to an assembled crimp spec of 106 mm (4.2 inch). The Variable Crimping Hose Machine is the most accurate, repeatable and versatile hose assembly machine on the market today.

The unit uses a sliding cone and smooth bore dies that compress the shell radially onto the coupling. The Crimputer II controls the action of the cone.

    Features and Benefits

    • Smooth bore dies significantly reduce the number of dies that are required to assemble the various sizes of hoses and couplings. The crimp length is an operator controlled variable on this hose machine.

    • The dies feature large bore openings that allow the installation of couplings with large flanges and couplings with tight tube bends.

    • The Crimputer II is pre-programmed for both Cat and Anchor couplings. The operator simply enters the size and the type of the hose and the coupling for faster set up times and greater accuracy.

    • The Crimputer II allows the operator to choose self-correction so that the next crimp dimension maintains minimum deviation from the mean value.

    • All future updates will be software based for quick, easy, and accurate installation.

    • The Variable Crimping Hose Machine comes complete with the die sets, a die release tool and a die changer tool, and the electronic calipers.

    • The machine is available in 380, 400, 415 and 480 volt configurations for worldwide applications.

    • The Variable Crimping Hose Machine is compact enough for bench top operation. An optional cart is available. The cart has four heavy duty casters, die racks, and additional storage.

    • An optional printer group includes a 100/220 volt 50/60 Hz power supply, an ink ribbon cartridge and a roll of paper. The printer group is CE compliant.
