Description of Change: The vane type air starting motors on the 3618 Engine have been replaced by turbine type air starting motors.

Adaptable To: The two 7W-0016 Air Starting Motor Groups have been replaced by two 246-1241 Air Starting Motors .

Note: 7W-0016 Air Starting Motor Gp is still a valid part number that is still used on 3600 Engines, on G3600 Engines, and on 3500 Engines. The 246-1241 Air Starting Motor change only applies to 3618 engines.The 246-1241 Air Starting Motor is designed to increase engine cranking speed. The starting motor also reduces cranking time.

Table 1 lists the serviceable parts for the 246-1241 Air Starting Motor .

Note: The 164-6762 Bracket is no longer needed with the new 246-1241 Air Starting Motors.
