    Typical water lines group

    (1) 241-5928 Gasket

    (2) 243-2288 Gasket

New gaskets have been designed in order to improve the sealing capability of the water lines groups that are used in 3500 Engines. The new gaskets are designed with a different material and with new geometry. The new design helps to prevent the gasket from creeping. One gasket (1) is located between the elbows and the water manifold of the water lines group and the other gasket (2) is located between the sections of the water manifold in the water lines groups.

Adaptable To: The part numbers of the new gaskets and of the gaskets that have been replaced are listed below.

    Table 1
Gaskets for the 3500 Water Lines Groups
    New Gasket     Former Gasket
    241-5928     8N-4524
    243-2288     1W-8545
The new gaskets are adaptable to first production of the above engines. The former gaskets have not been cancelled.
