The International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea SOLAS creates regulations in order to ensure the safety of shipping. The Regulations are effective July of this year for all of the marine engines. New regulations have affected the current production as well as the products that are operating in marine applications. An increasing amount of customers have approached Caterpillar dealers and inquiring about the regulation. The customers that are inquiring about the regulations want to update the engines in order to comply to the regulations.

Caterpillar offers fuel lines with double walls for the medium duty marine engines. The information is provided in order to conform to SOLAS regulations. The requirements may vary from an engine to an engine. This article may not contain all of the additional parts that are required.
