The improved silicone gasket sealant should be applied at the four T-shaped joints (A) of the oil pan gasket. The use of the gasket sealant will support the target of a engine that is free of oil leaks and service life will be extended. The T-shaped gasket joints are located at the connecting joint of the engine block to the flywheel housing and at the connecting point of the engine block to the front cover assembly.

Adaptable To: The 230-6352 Silicone Sealant is used on the T-shaped gasket joints of the oil pan in the above engines. The 230-6352 Sealant is currently serviced by the 4C-9612 Silicone Sealant.

    NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Note: This article replaces previous publications that eliminated the gasket sealant at the T-shaped joints: Service Magazine, SEPD0593, Engine News, SEBD9302 and Truck Engine News, SEBP6737.
