Generator Operation

Usage:

C2.2 TAG
The following types of control panels are available.

  • Standard control panel

  • Deluxe control panel

The standard control panel may be remotely mounted. Special wire harnesses are available for mounting several standard control panels in the vessel. The deluxe control panel must be remotely mounted. The deluxe control panel may be installed with several standard control panels in the vessel.

(1) "ALARM" light

(2) Oil pressure gauge

(3) Coolant temperature gauge

(4) Voltmeter gauge

(5) Hour meter

(6) "RUN" light

(7) Start switch

(8) Run/stop switch

Starting the Genset Above -5 °C (23 °F)

  1. Depress the "ON" toggle switch.

    Note: The "ALARM" lamp will illuminate confirming that the "ALARM" lamp is operational.

  1. Depress the "START" toggle switch. The engine will crank and the engine will start.

After the engine starts, the "RUN" light will be illuminated and the "ALARM" should turn off. The "ALARM" lamp will illuminate and the engine will shut down if one of the following faults is detected:

  • low engine oil pressure

  • high engine coolant temperature

  • high exhaust temperature on engines with a water cooled exhaust manifold

Find the source of the problem and correct the problem before you attempt to restart the engine.

Starting the Genset Below -5 °C (23 °F)

  1. Depress the "ON" toggle switch.

    Note: The "ALARM" lamp will illuminate confirming that the "ALARM" lamp is operational.

  1. Depress the "HEAT" toggle switch for 15 seconds.

  1. Depress the "START" toggle switch. The engine will crank and the engine will start.

After the engine starts, the "RUN" light will be illuminated and the "ALARM" should turn off. The "ALARM" lamp will illuminate and the engine will shut down if one of the following faults is detected:

  • low engine oil pressure

  • high engine coolant temperature

  • high exhaust temperature on engines with a water cooled exhaust manifold

Find the source of the problem and correct the problem before you attempt to restart the engine.

Stopping the Genset

Depress the "STOP" toggle switch in order to stop the genset.
