The engine shutdown switch is used on the machine to provide the Engine ECM with a engine shutdown mode.
Engine ECM (2) monitors engine shutdown switch (1) for a change in status. The engine shutdown switch has two sets of contacts: normally closed (NC) and normally open (NO). The Engine ECM has two inputs: normally closed (NC) and normally open (NO). When the status of the engine shutdown switch changes from normally closed (NC) to normally open (NO), the Engine ECM will shut the engine down.
The engine shutdown switch will reset when the knob is turned clockwise. This shutdown method should only be used in an emergency.
