Increased Engine Oil Temperature - Inspect
When the engine is at operating temperature and the engine is using SAE 15W40 oil, the maximum oil temperature should be 120 °C (248 °F). This is the temperature of the oil in the oil pan.
If the engine oil temperature is high, inspect the following possible causes:
- Restriction in the air inlet system
- Fault in a fuel injector nozzle
- Restriction in the exhaust system
- Too much oil in the oil pan
- Restriction in the coolant system
- Not enough coolant in the coolant system
- Loose drive belt
