Start By:

  1. Remove the auxiliary water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Auxiliary Water Pump - Remove".


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Remove bolts (5) . Remove manifold (6) , the plate, and the gaskets from the body of the auxiliary water pump.

  1. Remove guide pin (4) from manifold (6) . Remove the O-ring seal from the guide pin.

  1. Remove nut (1) and the washer from the shaft.

    Note: Some older models have a key in the shaft, newer models do not have a key.

  1. Use Tooling (A) and Tooling (B) to remove drive gear (2) . If necessary, remove key (3) from the shaft.

  1. Remove bolts (8) . Use Tooling (B) to remove body (7) from body (9) .

  1. Remove seal (10) from body (7) .

  1. Use Tooling (G) to remove retaining ring (11) .

  1. Use Tooling (C) to remove bearing (12) .

  1. Remove bolts (17) . Remove cover (16) .

  1. Use Tooling (F) to remove retaining ring (18) from the shaft.

  1. Use Tooling (G) to remove retaining ring (19) from bearing housing (13) .

  1. Remove bolts (14) . Remove bolts (22) . Use Tooling (D) to remove body (21) from body (9) .

  1. Remove Tooling (D) . Remove bearing housing (13) and shims (15) from body (21) .

  1. Use Tooling (C) to remove bearing (20) from bearing housing (13) .

  1. Remove sleeve (23) .

  1. Remove seal assembly (24) .

  1. Remove sleeve (35) .

  1. Remove seal assembly (34) .

  1. Remove spacer (33) .

  1. Remove O-ring seal (26) and O-ring seal (27) from body (9) .

  1. Remove port plate (32) .

  1. Remove impeller (25) from shaft (28) .

    Note: Impeller (25) has right-hand threads.

  1. Remove shaft (28) and impeller (30) from body (9) .

  1. Place shaft (28) into a soft jawed vise. Use Tooling (E) in order to remove impeller (30) .

    Note: Impeller (30) has left-hand threads.

  1. Remove ring (31) from body (9) .

  1. Remove plate (29) from body (9) .
