E030 High Transmission Oil Temperature Warning

Usage:

3126B 3GS
Conditions Which Generate This Code:

The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:

  • The transmission oil temperature is greater than the value that is programmed in the monitoring system parameter for "High Transmission Oil Temperature".

  • The parameter for the "Transmission Oil Temperature Sensor" is programmed to "Installed".

System Response:

The ECM will log the warning. The warning lamp will come on and the warning will be transmitted to the display. The ECM will reset the warning when the transmission oil temperature falls 2 °C (36 °F) below the set point for five seconds.

  • There may be a problem with the transmission oil temperature sensor.

Test Step 1. Inspect the Circuit Components and the Wiring

  1. Inspect the wiring and the connector for the transmission oil temperature sensor for the following conditions.

    • Damage

    • Loose connections

  1. Remove the sensor for the transmission oil temperature and inspect the sensor for damage.

Expected Result:

The sensor for the transmission oil temperature is operating properly and the wiring is OK.

Results:

  • OK - The sensor is operating properly and the wiring is functional.

Repair: Refer to the information that is provided by the OEM for the transmission.

    Stop.

  • Not OK -

Repair: Repair the components or replace the faulty components.Verify that the repair eliminates the problem.

    Stop.
