Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) Software Is Now Available For G3400 Engines And G3500 Engines That Are Equipped With An Electronic Ignition System (EIS) Or Air/Fuel Ratio Controls {0785}

Usage:

G3508 2TJ
Engines:
G3408 (S/N: 6FW)
G3408C (S/N: 3WR; 8YR; BAZ)
G3412 (S/N: 8LW)
G3412C (S/N: 6ZM; 5KR; 9RR)
G3508 (S/N: 4WD; 9TG; 2TJ; 9AW)
G3512 (S/N: 5JD; 7NJ; 9FP; 6JW)
G3516 (S/N: 8LD; 4EK; 5PN; 8PW)
G3524 (S/N: 7SZ)
G3532 (S/N: 8BZ)

ET software is available for the above engines that are equipped with an Electronic Ignition System (EIS) or air/fuel ratio controls. The ET software can be used instead of the Digital Diagnostic Tool (DDT). ET software uses the Speed Sensitive Timing Function. This replaces the Speed Timing Map that is used by the DDT.

The ET software can be used with software for the EIS that was released after February 1996 (2001B Release-Service Pack). Any software for the EIS that was released after February 1996 features the Speed Sensitive Timing Function. In order to view the release date of the software, type "00". Then press the "Enter" button on the DDT. Then press the "ALT 1" button. The screen of the DDT will display the items that follow: "Configuration, G35" and a Date Code. The Date Code consists of 3 letters and 2 numbers. The 3 letters indicate the month. The 2 numbers indicate the year. For example, a display of "JUN98" indicates a date of June 1998. The date that is displayed indicates the release date for the software for the personality module.
