Start By:
- Remove the piston motor (hydraulic cooling fan). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Piston Motor (Hydraulic Cooling Fan) - Remove" in this manual.

- Remove fittings (1) from block (2).

Place a mark on the pistons prior to removal from barrel (19). The pistons must be returned to the original position.

To prevent the possibility of injury, follow the procedure to relieve the spring pressure.
- Rotate barrel (19). Place barrel (19) into a suitable press.
- Compress the spring. Use Tooling (A) in order to remove snap ring (21). Slowly release the pressure on the spring.
