Recommended Setting Of The Oil Mist Detector Alarm Changed {1336}

The default setting of the oil mist detector alarm of the 191-6505 Oil Mist Detector and the default setting of the oil mist detector alarm of the 149-5143 Oil Mist Detector have changed. Previously, the oil mist detector alarm was set at 4. The setting is now 6. This new setting minimizes false alarms. Oil mist detector alarms that are set to 6 will still protect the engine. All of the above engines now leave the factory with the new setting of 6. Caterpillar recommends the use of the new setting on oil mist detector alarms on the above engines.
