Final Drive Sprocket - Remove and Install

Start By:
- Separate the track assembly. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Separate" in this manual.
- Lift the side of the machine, and install Tooling (A) under the frame, as shown.

Note: Adjust the height of Tooling (A) so that there is sufficient clearance between the sprocket and the track links for the removal of the sprocket.
- Remove 22 bolts (1) that hold the sprocket to the final drive.

- Fasten Tooling (B) and a hoist to sprocket (2), as shown. Remove the sprocket. The weight of the sprocket is approximately 60 kg (130 lb).

- Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the sprocket and final drive prior to installation of the sprocket.
- Fasten Tool (B) and a hoist to sprocket (2), and put the sprocket in position on the final drive.

- Put a thin coat of 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound on the threads of 22 bolts (1) that hold the sprocket to the final drive. Install bolts (1). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 270 ± 40 N·m (200 ± 30 lb ft).

- Raise the machine, and remove Tooling (A) from the frame.
