Removal Procedure

  1. Place the system in bypass mode by turning the keyswitch to the Bypass position.

  1. Isolate the system from the load by closing the bypass circuit breakers.

  1. Open the circuit breaker for the output of the system.

  1. Open the AC circuit breaker for the input of the system.

  1. Allow the capacitor banks to bleed down for approximately 5 minutes.

Note: When the flywheel is spinning, the following components are energized: the bus, the armature leads and the fuses. Accomplish the procedure as quickly as possible. During the procedure, the rotor is spinning on the bottom bearing.

  1. Label all the input wires and all of the output wires.

  1. Disconnect the "24 VDC Power In" connector from terminal "J4" (4) .

  1. Disconnect the "Modem" connector from terminal "J10" (9) .

  1. Disconnect the "APC I/O" connector from terminal "J2" (11) .

  1. Disconnect the "APC I/O" connector from terminal "J3" (10) .

  1. Remove the Screw (Chassis Ground) (12) .

  1. Disconnect all wires to "J7" Contacts ("Remote Input") (2) .

  1. Disconnect all wires to the "J6" Contacts ("Remote Output") (1) .

  1. Disconnect any external wiring to "J14" Contacts ("Remote EPO") (3) .

  1. Disconnect any wires to the following components: "J9" "Ethernet" (8), "J8" "UPSNET/CAN A" (7), "J12" "CAN B" (6) and "J1" "RS232/RS485" (5) .

  1. Remove the board from the seven plastic mounting spacers.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the new board.

  1. Install the Screw (Chassis Ground) (12) .

  1. Connect the "APC Output" connector to terminal "J3" (10) .

  1. Connect the "APC Input" connector to terminal "J2" (11) .

  1. Connect the "EPO" connector to terminal "J10" (9) .

  1. Connect the "24 VDC Power In" connector to terminal "J4" (4) .

  1. Connect the wires for the following components: "J9" "Ethernet" (8), "J8" "UPSNET/CAN A" (7), "J12" "CAN B" (6) and "J1" "RS232/RS485" (5) .

  1. Connect the external wiring for the "J14" Contacts ("Remote EPO") (3) .

  1. Connect the wires for the "J6" Contacts ("Remote Output") (1) .

  1. Connect the wires for the "J7" Contacts ("Remote Input") (2) .
