Assembly Procedure

Note: Thoroughly clean all parts prior to assembly. Inspect all parts. If any parts are damaged, use new parts for replacement. Put clean hydraulic oil on all internal parts during assembly.

Note: Check the condition of all O-ring seals. If any O-ring seals are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force. Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment. Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.

1. Install spring (43), spring (44) and retainer (45).

2. Place the actuator housing in a suitable press, as shown.

3. Put enough pressure on retainer (45) in order to compress springs (44) and (43).

4. Install retaining ring (46).

5. Slowly release the pressure on retainer (45).

6. Install O-ring seals (42).

7. Install stem (41).

8. Install O-ring seal (35). Install large plug (36) and the O-ring seal. Install five small plugs (37) and the O-ring seals. Install spring (40), spool (39) and spring (38) in actuator (33).

   Note: The assembly is identical for both actuators.

9. Use two bolts (34) in order to install actuator (33).

10. Install hidden O-ring seal (32). Install solenoid (30). Install four bolts (31). The assembly is identical for both solenoids.

11. Install plug (29) and the O-ring seal.

12. Install O-ring seal (27) and O-ring seal (28). Install check valve (12).

13. Install O-ring seal (24), O-ring seal (25) and O-ring seal (26).

14. Install relief valve (11). Tighten relief valve (11) to a torque of 65 ± 5 N·m (48 ± 4 lb ft).

15. Assemble relief valve (10).

    1. Install O-ring seal (13) and O-ring seal (14).

    2. Install valve (23), spring (22) and dowel (20).

    3. Install plate (17).

    4. Install retainer assembly (18).

    5. Install cap (21) and O-ring seal (15). Tighten to a torque of 110 ± 10 N·m (81 ± 7 lb ft).

    6. Install locknut (19). Tighten to a torque of 50 ± 7 N·m (37 ± 5 lb ft).

    7. Install relief valve (10). Tighten to a torque of 110 ± 10 N·m (81 ± 7 lb ft).

16. Install plugs (9) and the O-ring seals.

18. Install manifold (6).

19. Install bolts (7).

20. Install plug (2), O-ring seal (3), spring (4) and valve (5) in body (1). Tighten to a torque of 150 ± 10 N·m (111 ± 7 lb ft).

End By:

1. Install the main control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Main Control Valve - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
