MID 036 - CID 0799 - FMI 12 Need Service tool update
Conditions Which Generate This Code:
The Personality Module is for a different engine family, a different engine, or a different application. The diagnostic code 253-02 is active.
An attempt is made in order to reset the interlock code with an old version of the Electronic Technician (ET).
The software for the service tool MUST be updated before the service tool can reset the ECM interlock with factory passwords.
System Response:
The CID-FMI is not logged in memory. The diagnostic code 253-02 will always be active when this diagnostic code is active. The CID-FMI may be viewed on a display module or the Cat ET.
Test Step 1. Perform the following test: ECM/Personality Module
Results:
- OK - Stop.
- REPAIRED, OK - Stop.
