  1. Remove The Former Switch.

    1. Place the actuator in the NEUTRAL position.

    1. Use a small screwdriver in order to depress the tangs that are located on each end of the connector.

    1. Remove the actuator from the switch.

    1. Remove the screws that mount the transmission direction rocker switch onto the steering wheel.

    1. Remove the black ground wire from the switch's ground stud.

    1. Remove the purple wire and the gray wire from the connector. See Special Instruction, SEHS9615, "Servicing DT Connectors".

    1. Remove the transmission direction rocker switch from the assembly.

  1. Install The New Switch.

    1. Note the direction of the actuator on the new switch.

    1. Remove the actuator from the new switch.

    1. Apply 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound to the two screws.

    1. Tighten the screws to 0.7 ± .2 N·m (6 ± 1.8 lb in).

    1. Reinstall the actuator on the switch.

    1. Install the gray wire, purple wire, and blue wire on the connector. See illustration 1.

    1. Apply 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound to the ground post.

    1. Tighten the ground bolt to 1.7 ± 0.2 N·m (15 ± 1.8 lb in).

    1. Check for proper operation of the transmission direction rocker switch.

Adaptable To: The above changes are effective with Table 3.
