The parameters of the control may be monitored and adjusted when the programmer is plugged into the J1 port. The part number and the part name are
140-2304 Governor Electronic Control Programmer. The programmer is shown in Illustration 3.
The J2 port is a dedicated ServLink port that is used with a computer program. The computer programs that are used with the J2 are the Watch Window and the Control View.
Watch Window allows all of the parameters to be viewed at the same time on a personal computer. Adjustable parameters may be stored or the parameters may be retrieved from the disk drive of the computer. This makes setting up multiple engines much easier. Custom windows permit the user to look at the parameters that are of interest, instead of switching between screens. The Caterpillar part number and the part name is the 180-3760 Cable. A null modem cable is required for use of the Watch Windows. The Watch Window program is shown in Illustration 2.
Control View is a graphic based tool that assists in permitting the user to really understand the control system. The Control View includes the following items: gauges, a bar graph and 2D graphs. The Control View is easy to use. The Control View shows all of the parameters of the system in a format that can be understood. This program requires a standard null modem cable. Refer to the "Standard Menu Items" topic.
