Description of Change: A new fan drive group (variable speed) is used on the 3500 Engines in the above machines. This new group includes many serviceable parts. The new fan drive group has a serviceable speed magnet and pinned bearings. The new fan drive group has inner bearing races that are locked to the shaft assembly and hub assembly. Pins are used to lock the inner bearing races to the shaft assembly and hub assembly. The pins prevent the inner bearing races from rotating on the shaft assembly and the hub assembly.
Adaptable To: A new 163-2592 Fan Drive Group is a direct replacement for the former 133-5969 Fan Drive Group. The former fan drive group is cancelled. Illustrations 1, 2, and 3 identify the parts that are serviceable in the new fan drive group. Tables 1, 2, and 3 identify the parts that are serviceable in the new fan drive group. The 122-3188 Seal Kit and the new 174-9351 Repair Kit are available to service the new 163-2592 Fan Drive Group. The 122-3188 Seal Kit is also part of the new 174-9351 Repair Kit. Table 4 identifies the components of the new 174-9351 Repair Kit. The components of the 122-3188 Seal Kit are identified in the Reference Article.
