Removal Procedure

Note: Put identification on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

The HH65 Harvester Head is shown in this procedure. Other harvester heads are similar.

1. Remove nut (2). Remove the pivot pin. Push the measuring arm cylinder away from measuring arm (1) .

2. Disconnect hose (3) from tube (4) .

3. Remove four screws (5) that attach cover (6) to measuring arm (1). Remove cover (6) .

4. Disconnect the wires from encoder (7) .

5. Pull the wires for the encoder out of tube (4). Secure the wires and hose (3) away from measuring arm (1) .

6. Remove nut (10) and bolt (8) .

7. Support the measuring arm. Remove pivot pin (9) and the two spacers. Remove the measuring arm from the harvester head. The measuring arm weighs 11.3 kg (25 lb).
