SR4B 发电机有以下特性：
- 三相交流电
- 无刷型
- 四极或六极设计
固定主电枢 (2) 以螺栓固定到发动机飞轮壳。 柔性联轴节板将转子轴 (4) 连接到发动机飞轮。 旋转主磁场 (3) 直接锁紧到转子轴。
SR4B 发电机是自通风式发电机。 空气通过位于发电机后部的过滤节流孔进入发电机。 空寂通过位于发电机驱动联轴器端的过滤节流孔排出发电机。 风扇 (8) 附接到转子轴 (4) 。 轴承 (7) 支承转子轴的励磁机端。
注: 某些大型发电机有双轴承。 这种情况下，发电机轴的每端各有一个轴承。
