Installation Procedure

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Install dust seal (5) and spacer (4) to the cylinder head.

- Install the new seat washer on the end of fuel injection nozzle (3) .
Note: Remove the original seat washer from the threaded hole for the fuel injection nozzle which is located in the cylinder head. If the original seat washer is not removed, the projection of the nozzle will be incorrect when a new seat washer is installed. Do not reuse the seat washer.
- Install fuel injection nozzle (3) into the cylinder head.
- Install clamp (2) and bolts (1) to the cylinder head. Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 12 N·m (9 lb ft).
