Removal Procedure

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

1. Remove five bolts (1) and the washers. Remove walkway (2) .

2. Remove bolts (3) from tube (4) .

3. Loosen bolts (5) and bolts (6). This will allow tube (4) to be moved out of the way.

4. Remove hose (7). Disconnect electrical connector (8). Put plugs in the ends of the tube assemblies in order to prevent oil loss and keep contaminants out of the hydraulic system.

5. Remove bolts (9). Fasten a hoist and a suitable lifting device to the valve assembly before you remove the bolts. The weight of the valve is 36 kg (80 lb).

6. Lift the valve (10) from the machine.
