Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Install the wheel chocks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Chock (Front and Rear) - Remove and Install".
2. Connect the frame lock link. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Frame Lock Link - Separate and Connect".

1. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

2. Remove eight bolts (1) and the washers that secure plate (2) to the platform and the cab. Use two people to remove plate (2) from the platform.

3. Disconnect wiring harness (3) from VIMS main module (4) at the electrical connection.

4. Remove six bolts (5) and the washers that secure bar (6) and bar (7) to the bracket assembly on the cab. Remove the bars, the VIMS main module, and the VIMS interface modules as one unit from the bracket assembly.

5. Remove two bolts (8) that secure cover (9) for the battery to the VIMS main module.

6. Remove cover (9) from the VIMS main module. Remove O-ring seal (10) from cover (9). Remove battery (11) from the VIMS main module.

7. Remove three mounts (12) from bar (6). Remove three mounts (13) from bar (7). Remove four bolts (14) and the washers that secure VIMS main module (4) to bar (6) and bar (7). Remove VIMS main module (4) from bar (6) and bar (7) .

Installation Procedure

Note: Verify that all of the components of the VIMS main module are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.

1. Position VIMS main module (4) to bar (6) and bar (7). Install four bolts (14) and the washers that secure VIMS main module (4) to bar (6) and bar (7). Install three mounts (13) to bar (7). Install three mounts (12) to bar (6) .

2. Install battery (11) to the VIMS main module. Install O-ring seal (10) to cover (9). Position cover (9) to the VIMS main module.

3. Install two bolts (8) that secure cover (9) for the battery to the VIMS main module.

4. Position the bars, the VIMS main module, and the VIMS interface modules to the bracket assembly on the cab. Install six bolts (5) and the washers that secure bar (6) and bar (7) to the bracket assembly on the cab.

5. Connect wiring harness (3) to VIMS main module (4) at the electrical connection.

6. Use two people to position plate (2) to the platform. Install eight bolts (1) and the washers that secure plate (2) to the platform and the cab.

End By:

1. Separate the frame lock link. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Frame Lock Link - Separate and Connect".
2. Remove the wheel chocks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Chock (Front and Rear) - Remove and Install".
