- Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.Belt Tension Test Tool
- Lubricate the O-ring seals lightly with clean engine oil prior to installation.
- Verify that the front accessory drive is clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.

- Install V-belt (6) to the alternator and the pulley. Tighten two adjustment nuts (5) in order to adjust the V-belt tension. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7173, "Alternator, Air Conditioner and Fan Belts - Inspect/Adjust/ Replace" for the correct procedure.
- Use Tool (A) (not shown) in order to measure the belt tension. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7173, "Belt Tension Chart" for the correct belt tension.

Illustration 5 g00564625 - Install guard (4) with bolt (3) and the washer. Install guard (1) to the alternator with two nuts (2) and the washers.
End By:
- Install the engine oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pump - Install".
- Install the water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Water Pump - Install" for the correct procedure.
