Removal Procedure

1. Place an identification mark on all electrical wires that are connected to the starting motor. Disconnect the electrical wires from the starting motor.

2. Remove nuts (1) from the studs that are in the flywheel housing.

3. Remove electric starting motor (2) from the flywheel housing.

4. Remove ring (3) from the flywheel housing.

   Note: Place an index mark on the ring for installation purposes.

Installation Procedure

1. Install ring (3) into the flywheel housing.

   Note: Ensure that the ring is installed according to the index mark that was made during the removal process.

2. Install electric starting motor (2) on the flywheel housing.

3. Install nuts (1) on the studs.
