Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the seat. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, RENR2848, "Seat - Remove and Install".
2. Remove the bottom guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Bottom Guard - Remove and Install".

1. Remove six bolts (1) and washers.

2. Remove access panel (2) .

3. Remove four bolts (3) and washers.

4. Remove gasket (4) .

5. Loosen two nuts (5) .

6. Remove exhaust pipe (6) through the access panel.

7. Remove two bolts (7) and washers.

8. Loosen two nuts (8) .

9. Remove muffler (9) .

Installation Procedure

1. Install muffler (9) and tighten two nuts (8) .

2. Install two washers and bolts (7). Tighten bolts to a torque of 160 ± 30 N·m (118 ± 22 lb ft).

3. Install exhaust pipe (6) through the access panel.

4. Tighten two nuts (5) .

5. Install gasket (4) and the exhaust pipe with washers and four bolts (3). Tighten the bolts.

6. Install access panel (2) .

7. Install washers and six bolts (1). Tighten the bolts.

End By:

1. Install the bottom guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Bottom Guard - Remove and Install".
2. Install the seat. Refer to Disassembly and AssemblyRENR2848, "Seat - Remove and Install".
