Hydraulic Oil Cooler - Remove

Usage:

302.5 4AZ

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".
  2. Drain oil from the hydraulic tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, SEBU7203, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change".

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.

Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.

Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.

NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, all hoses and all tubes. This will help to prevent fluid loss and this will help to keep contaminants from entering the system.

  1. Open the hood.

  1. Remove four bolts (1) and washers.

  1. Remove right corner protector (2) .

  1. Remove four bolts, washers, and bracket (3) .

  1. Remove right side panel (4) .

  1. Remove four bolts (5) and washers.

  1. Remove rear right support assembly (6) .

  1. Loosen clamp (7) and remove the hose.

  1. Disconnect tube (8) in order to move hydraulic oil filter (9) .

  1. Loosen two clamps (10) and remove two hoses .

  1. Remove two bolts (11) and washers.

  1. Remove hydraulic oil cooler (12) .
