Sectional View of the Pilot Manifold Valve

(1) Passage (pilot oil)

(2) Solenoid valve (bottom dump)

(3) Pilot manifold

(4) Line (bottom dump spool)

(5) Passage (tank drain)

There are two bottom dump solenoid valves on the pilot manifold valve. The bottom dump open solenoid valve controls the bucket bottom dump open function. The bottom dump close solenoid valve controls the bucket bottom dump close function.

Bottom Dump Open Solenoid Valve

Bottom dump open solenoid valve (2) controls pilot oil flow to the bottom dump control valve. During operation, bottom dump open solenoid valve (2) is nonenergized. A nonenergized bottom dump open solenoid valve (2) returns the pilot oil from the bottom dump open line (4) to hydraulic tank drain passage (5). When an electrical signal from the right implement pilot valve trigger switch energizes bottom dump open solenoid valve (2), pilot oil is supplied from passage (1) to bottom dump open line (4). Pilot oil in bottom dump open line (4) moves the bottom dump control spool. This allows hydraulic oil to flow into the rod end of the bottom dump cylinders which opens the bucket.

Bottom Dump Close Solenoid Valve

Bottom dump close solenoid valve (2) controls pilot oil flow to the bottom dump control valve. During operation, bottom dump close solenoid valve (2) is nonenergized. A nonenergized bottom dump close solenoid valve (2) returns the pilot oil from the bottom dump close line (4) to hydraulic tank drain passage (5). When an electrical signal from the left implement pilot valve trigger switch energizes bottom dump close solenoid valve (2), pilot oil is supplied from passage (1) to bottom dump close line (4). Pilot oil in bottom dump close line (4) moves the bottom dump control spool. This allows hydraulic oil to flow into the head end of the bottom dump cylinders which closes the bucket.
