Camshaft Position Sensor - Remove and Install

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Disconnect the harness assembly from camshaft position sensor (3).
- Remove bolt (1) and the washer.
- Remove camshaft position sensor (3) and bracket (2) as a unit from the front housing.
- Inspect the condition of the O-ring seal on camshaft position sensor (3). Replace the O-ring seal, if necessary.

- Install camshaft position sensor (3) and bracket (2) as a unit into the front housing.
- Install bolt (1) and the washer.
- Connect the harness assembly to camshaft position sensor (3).
- Calibrate the engine speed-timing. Refer to Electronic Troubleshooting for more information.
