The bias spring is incorporated into the fuel shutoff mechanism in order to improve idle stability. The bias spring is a torsional spring on the fuel shutoff mechanism. The bias spring preloads the levers on the fuel shutoff mechanism against the servo valve. Spring (2) maintains the clearances between swivels and spools to the shutoff direction at all times.
