Master Cylinder - Remove and Install
Removal Procedure
Start By:
- Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
- Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".
- Remove hose assembly (1) from the top of the master cylinder.
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all hoses and all tubes. This will help prevent fluid loss and this will help to keep contaminants from entering the system.

- Remove tube assembly (2) .
Note: Removal of tube assembly (2) is only required if the tube is damaged or the master cylinder is being rebuilt.
- Remove hose assembly (3). Remove tube assembly (4) .
- Remove tube assemblies (5) and (6) .

- Remove clevis (7) and the pin from the master cylinder.

- Remove four bolts (8) and the washers that hold the master cylinder to the mounting plate. The weight of the master cylinder is 14 kg (31 lb).
Installation Procedure
- Install the master cylinder. The weight of the master cylinder is 14 kg (31 lb). Install the washers and four bolts (8) .

- Install clevis (7) and the pin onto the master cylinder.
- Install tube assemblies (5) and (6) .

Note: Check the condition of all seal and of all components. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
- Install hose assembly (3). Install tube assembly (4) .

- Install tube assembly (2), if tube assembly (2) was removed.
- Install hose assembly (1) on the top of the master cylinder.
End By: Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
