615C Series II Wheel Tractor-Scraper Machine Systems Caterpillar

Installation Procedure

1. Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

2. Install the hitch to the machine. The hitch weighs 500 kg (1102 lb). Use a soft faced hammer to install two pins (23) and (18) . Place suitable cribbing under the hitch in order to keep the hitch from tilting. Remove the tooling from the hitch.

3. Install two retainers (22) and six bolts (21) to pin (23) . Install spacer (20) to pin (18) . Install four bolts (19) to pin (18) .

4. Use Tooling (A) to install nut (17) to pin (18) . Tighten the nut to a torque of 745 N·m (550 lb ft). Then turn the nut to the next locking position. Install pin (16) to nut (17) . Install cotter pin (15) to pin (16) .

5. Position the tubes to the hitch. Install three clamps (14) and six bolts (13) to the hitch.

6. Position the hoses to the hitch. Connect four hose assemblies (12) . Install the clips and three bolts (11) to the hitch.

7. Connect two hose assemblies (9) to hydraulic block (10) and tighten two retaining nuts (8) .

8. Position the tubes to the hitch. Install six clamps (7) and 12 bolts (6) to the hitch. Install the clips and bolt (5) to the hitch.

9. Install the link assembly to the hitch. The link assembly weighs 45 kg (98 lb). Use a soft faced hammer to install pin (4) to the hitch. Repeat the procedure for the other side.

10. Install yoke (3) , lock (2) and four bolts (1) to pin (4) . Remove the tooling from the link assembly. Repeat the procedure for the other side.
