Test
- Place the machine on level ground.
- Stop the engine.
- Connect a 60000 kPa (8700 psi) pressure gauge to either pressure tap (1) or pressure tap (2) .

Pilot Oil Manifold Compartment (24) Pressure tap (25) Pilot manifold |
- Start the engine.
- Place the machine controls at the following settings: Power Mode, Boom Priority Mode and engine speed dial "10".
Note: The engine will not reach maximum no-load speed until the hydraulic tank pressure has reached the operating level.
Reference: Make reference to Testing and Adjusting, "Operational Checks" for engine rpm settings.
- Check the pilot relief valve setting at pressure tap (24) .
Adjust

Pilot Oil Manifold Compartment (25) Pilot oil manifold (26) Adjustment screw (27) Locknut |
- Loosen locknut (27) .
- Turn adjustment screw (26) until the pressure gauge reading at pressure tap (24) is 4400 to 4890 kPa (650 to 720 psi).
- Tighten locknut (27) to a torque of 16 ± 1 N·m (12 ± 1 lb ft).
Note: Turning adjustment screw (26) clockwise increases the pressure. Turning adjustment screw (26) counterclockwise decreases the pressure.
Note: Always make final pressure adjustments on pressure rise.
Note: Normal operation of the engine and pumps are necessary for the pressure adjustment. If the results of the pressure adjustments are not correct, then the engine and the pump characteristic curve needs to be checked.
