Leaving the Machine

  1. Use the steps and the handholds when you dismount. When you dismount, face the machine and use both hands.

  1. Inspect the engine compartment for debris. Clean out any debris in order to avoid a fire hazard.

  1. Remove all flammable debris from the front bottom guard through the access doors in order to reduce a fire hazard. Discard the debris properly.

  1. Turn the key for the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. When the machine is left for an extended period of one month or longer, you should remove the key. This will help to prevent a battery short circuit. Removing the key will also help to protect the battery from vandalism and from the current draw that is made by certain components.

  1. Lock all vandalism covers and all compartments.

  1. Remove the bolt that holds the vandalism guards in place. Remove the vandalism guards from the storage area.

  1. Install the vandalism guards on the front window and on the cab door. An identification number is stamped on each of the vandalism guards. Install the vandalism guards in the correct sequence. Use bolts (A) only for vandalism guard (3) and for vandalism guard (5) .

Note: When you are storing the vandalism guards, make sure that you place the guards in the storage area in sequential order, as shown. The vandalism guards will only fit in the storage area in this manner.
