Diesel engine exhaust contains products of combustion which may be harmful to your health Always start and operate the engine in a well-ventilated area and, if in an enclosed area, vent the exhaust to the outside. |

- Move the transmission control to the NEUTRAL position.
- Unlock the steering column. Move the steering column to the desired position and lock the steering column.
- Engage the parking and secondary brake.

- Move the control levers to the HOLD position.
- Partially depress the governor control pedal. Continue to hold the governor control pedal as you crank the engine.
- Turn the engine start switch key in order to start the engine. Release the engine start switch key when the engine starts. Release the governor control pedal after the engine starts.

Do not crank the engine for more than 30 seconds. Allow the starting motor to cool for two minutes before cranking again. Turbocharger (if equipped) damage can result, if the engine rpm is not kept low until the engine oil light/gauge verifies the oil pressure is sufficient. |
