CID 0627 FMI 09 Pressure Switch (Parking Brake) Abnormal Update - Test

Usage:

769C 01X
The diagnostic code is recorded when the ARC does not receive the signal of the parking brake pressure and/or the signal is abnormal. The EPTC II sends the signal of the parking brake pressure to the ARC over the Cat data link.

Note: The ARC will record a diagnostic code CID 0248 that is related to the data link after the ARC records a related CID 0627. Correct the CID 0627 diagnostic code first. Then clear the CID 0248.

The possible causes are listed:

  • Poor electrical connection of the data link

  • Poor electrical connection of the machine harness connectors

Note: Ensure that the CID 0627 FMI 09 diagnostic code is present and ensure that the diagnostic code is active.

  1. INSPECT HARNESS CONNECTORS.

    1. Inspect the connections of the machine harness that are related to the data link.

    1. Make sure that the connectors are clean and that the connectors are tight.

    1. Perform the following process if it is necessary. Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness.

    1. Observe the status of the CID 0627 FMI 09 diagnostic code. The diagnostic code is active or the diagnostic code is NOT active.

Expected Result: The diagnostic code remains present. The diagnostic code is active.

      Results:

      • OK: The diagnostic code remains present. Proceed to Step 2.

      • No: The diagnostic code is NO longer present. The connection of the machine harness was faulty. The diagnostic code is not present at this time. An intermittent connection may exist in the circuits of the data link in the machine harness. Watch for a recurrence of this diagnostic code.

  1. CHECK THE DATA LINK CIRCUIT.

    1. Use the Electrical System Schematic in the Service Manual of the machine in order to check the circuit of the data link.

    1. Check the connecting wire 892-BR-16 and wire 893-GN-16 of the machine harness for continuity and for shorts in the circuit. Check the circuit from the ARC to the EPTC II.

Expected Result: The data link circuit in the machine harness is correct.

      Results:

      • OK: The data link circuit in the machine harness is correct. It is unlikely that the ARC is faulty. Exit this procedure and perform a check of the CID and the FMI again. Replace the ARC if the cause of the diagnostic code is not found. See Testing And Adjusting, "ARC - Replace". STOP.

      • No: The data link circuit in the machine harness is faulty. Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness. STOP.
