CAT REMAN EXPANDS TURBINE AIR STARTER PRODUCT LINE
Announcement & Recommended Action
Cat Reman announces the release of an additional Reman turbine air starter to provide additional coverage for engines used in Wheel Loader and C175-16 applications. The addition of the Reman option will give dealers another service option to offer customers who are looking for lower cost service options or need a quick off-the-shelf service solution. Parts Managers are asked to review their auto-replenish indicators on the newly released part and consider converting replenishment to the Reman part to assure ready availability for your customers.
Air starters offer some advantages over electric starters in colder climates where engines take longer to start. Caterpillar offers a wide selection of both turbine and vane style air starters. For additional information on starter options available and when they should be utilized, refer to Salesgram TEKQ0374. Parts Availability Commitment
As stated in SELD0122 Policies and Core Management, Caterpillar is committed to lead the industry in overall parts availability and customer service. Caterpillar may fulfill this commitment by using new parts or components to help satisfy demand for Remanufactured Products.
The ANTARES SM EZ-21 screen should be used to determine where Reman parts orders CAN be filled with new (seeded). The Msg column on the far right side of the screen can be used as the indicator. The messages codes used have the following meaning:
REE – indicates a Reman equivalent part is available for the New part number
RMN – indicates the Reman part is set up to “Fill with New” if Reman is not available.
If the field is blank or has any other message, the Reman part is not set up for “fill with new”.
