Usage:
1. Disconnect hose assembly (1) from transmission oil pump (2).
2. Remove two bolts (3), and remove transmission oil pump (2) from the transmission.
NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the transmission oil pump.
3. Make sure the two O-ring seals are positioned correctly on the transmission oil pump.
4. Align the splines, and install transmission oil pump (2) on the transmission. Install two bolts (3) that hold the pump in place.
5. Connect hose assembly (1) to the transmission oil pump.
Disassemble & Assemble Transmission Oil Pump
Start By:
a. remove transmission oil pump
1. Put an alignment mark across the sections of the transmission oil pump for assembly purposes.
2. Remove two bolts (4) and four bolts (11) that hold the pump sections together.
3. Remove O-ring seals (8) and (9) from cover (14).
4. Remove cover (14) from dowels (6) and body (5).
5. Use tooling (A), and remove two bearings (7) from cover (14).
6. Remove O-ring seal (13) from cover (14).
7. Remove body (5) from manifold (3).
8. Remove drive gear (10) and idler gear (12) from manifold (3). Remove four dowels (6) from body (5).
9. Remove two bearings (2) and O-ring seal (1) from manifold (3).
NOTE: The following steps are for assembly of the transmission oil pump.
10. Be sure all parts of the transmission oil pump are clean and free of dirt and debris. Check all components of the transmission oil pump for wear and damage. If any of the parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
11. Use tooling (A), and install bearings (2) with the joint in both bearings in the correct location in manifold (3). The location of the joint is at an angle 30° ± 15° from the centerline of the two bearing bores in the direction of the groove on the pressure side of the pump. The bearings must be 1.6 ± 0.5 mm (0.06 ± 0.02 in) below the surface of the manifold. See dimension (X). The inside diameter of the bearings must be 31.786 ± 0.008 mm (1.2514 ± 0.0003 in) after installation.
12. Install O-ring seal (1) on manifold (3).
13. Install four dowels (6), two on each side, in body (5). The dowels should be 4.8 ± .5 mm (.19 ± .02 in) above the surface of the body. See dimension (X).
14. Align the dowels, and put body (5) in position on manifold (3). Install drive gear (10) and idler gear (12) in manifold (3).
15. Use tooling (A), and install bearings (7) with the joint in both bearings in the correct location in cover (14). The location of the joint is at an angle 30° ± 15° from the centerline of the two bearing bores in the direction of the groove on the pressure side of the pump. The bearings must be 1.50 ± 0.25 mm (.059 ± .010 in) below the surface of the cover. See dimension (X). The inside diameter of the bearings must be 31.786 ± 0.008 mm (1.2514 ± 0.0003 in) after installation.
16. Install O-ring seal (13) on cover (14).
17. Put cover (14) in position on the dowels in body (5).
18. Install O-ring seals (8) and (9) on cover (14).
19. Install two bolts (4) and four bolts (11) that hold the pump sections together.
NOTE: After assembly, the pump must rotate freely by hand.
End By:
a. install transmission oil pump
