Cable straps holding the top lead wire bundle together as it exits the stator may be missing on certain 3306B Generator Sets. Without these straps it is possible for the lead wires to relax and make contact with the rotor balance ring, ultimately causing an electrical short.

Action Required
Remove the generator electrical bulkhead by loosening the ten mounting bolts securing it to the rear intake boxes of the enclosure. With a flashlight and mirror, inspect for cable straps within six inches from where the top lead wire bundle exits the stator windings. If no cable straps are in place install 5P5148 Cable Straps on the lead bundle and tighten so that at least a 1 inch of clearance gap exists between lead wire bundle and the balance ring.
