The diagonal struts on the pushframe of certain 623E Scrapers need to be inspected for fuel that has accumulated from a cracked fuel tank.

Action Required
Drill three 4.67 mm (.188") diameter holes in the frame strut as shown in the illustration. Drill the holes on each side of the frame. Be prepared to catch any fuel that may be in the struts. If fuel has leaked into struts, as much as five gallons may be present. Drain the fuel into an approved container.
Location Of Drilled Holes To Check For fuel Containment In Struts
If no fuel is present, no further action is required.
If fuel is present, implement the October 2, 1991 Service Letter - PS0553 at this time.
