Protection Trip Problem
The motor should be protected with alarms and trips for abnormal electrical or mechanical running conditions. Some of these protections can be reset and the motor restarted directly after the fault is addressed. Some examples of alarms or trips that require further investigation are as follows:
- High temperature in bearing
- High temperature in winding or in cooling air
- Overcurrent, current and voltage unbalance, over-voltage
- Vibration
