The front panel display is located on the left door of the MMU system cabinet. Refer to Illustration 1 for the location of the display.
The key switch (7) has the following modes: Bypass, On-line and Reset
The LCD panel contains the following components: an LCD display (1), an emergency power off button (3), a key switch (7) and three status indicators (LED) (4), (5), and (6).
The three LED indicators show the status of the UPS. The "Alarm" LED (4) is red when there is an alarm. The "Notice" LED (5) is yellow when there is a notice. The "Normal" LED (6) flashes green when the UPS is on-line. The "Normal" LED is steady when the load is protected.
Removal Procedure for the Panel
Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (MMS System Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.
- Disconnect the connector from terminal J1.
- Disconnect the backlight power connector from terminal J4.
- Disconnect the EPO connector from terminal J7.
- Disconnect the APC connector from terminal J2.
- Disconnect the EMO connector from terminal J11.
- Remove the grounding screw.
- Remove the four nuts and the four lock washers that attach the panel to the cabinet door.
- Remove the panel from the front of the door.
Note: The LCD is not a separate item for removal and installation.
Installation Procedure for the Panel
- Position the panel in the cabinet door from the front.
- Attach the panel to the door with four nuts and four lock washers.
- Attach the grounding screw.
- Attach the EMO connector to terminal J11.
- Attach the connector to terminal J1.
- Attach the backlight power connector to terminal J4.
- Attach the EPO connector to terminal J7.
- Attach the APC connector to terminal J2.
Removal Procedure for the Key Switch
Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "Internal Component Pre-removal Steps (MMS System Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.
- Open the left cabinet door in order to gain access to the rear of the key switch.
- Remove the wires that are attached to the key switch (7). The wires contain a labeling to the location of the wire. Verify the labeling of the wires with the location of the wire.
- Remove the key switch (1).
Installation Procedure for the Key Switch
- Verify orientation of the key switch (7) before installing the key switch.
- Attach the wires to the key switch. Verify the labeling of the wires with the location of the wire. Refer to Illustration 3.

Removal Procedure for the Emergency Power Off Module
Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "Internal Component Pre-removal Steps (MMS System Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.
- Open the left cabinet door in order to gain access to the rear of the EPO module (3).
- Remove the wires that are attached to the EPO module (3). The wires contain a labeling to the location of the wire. Verify the labeling of the wires with the location of the wire.
- Remove the EPO module (3).
- Check orientation of the EPO module before installing the module.
- Install the button face and the clear shield onto the base unit.
- Push the module through the front of the door. Set the module in place.
- Attach the wires to the module. Verify the labeling of the wires with the location of the wire. Refer to Illustration 3 for wire connections.
