Start By:
- Remove the clutch (front wheel assist). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Clutch (Front Wheel Assist) - Remove".
- Remove bolts (1). Remove modulating control valve (2) and O-ring seal (3) .

- Remove bolts (5) and shroud assembly (4) .

- Remove retaining ring (6). Remove coupling (7) and clutch assembly (8) .

- Remove plates (9) and discs (10) from coupling (7) .

- Remove retaining ring (11) from coupling (7) .

- Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press in order to compress spring (14). Use Tooling (B) in order to remove retaining ring (12). Remove retainer (13), spring (14), and sleeve (15) .

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force. Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment. Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force. |

- Remove piston (16) .

- Remove seals (17) .

- Remove bolt (19), yoke assembly (18), shims (20), the retainer, the spacer, and the O-ring seal.

- Use Tooling (C) and a suitable press in order to separate shaft assembly (21) from housing assembly (22) .
Note: Support shaft assembly (21) from the bottom.
