This article applies to 3054C engines with the Delphi DP210 fuel injection pump. An improved fuel injection pump is available for the 3054C engine. Review SIS Web in order to confirm the correct part number for the fuel injection pump for each specification of application.
The improvements have the following effects:
- Reduction of the production of white smoke on acceleration under no load conditions
- Reduced risk of external fuel leaks
In the event of a suspected failure of the fuel injection pump, perform the appropriate diagnostic procedures. If a fault in the fuel injection pump is identified by the diagnostic procedures, the fuel injection pump must be sent to the nearest approved Delphi agent for a modification or repair within the terms of the warranty. For removal and installation of the fuel injection pump, refer to the service manual.
Fuel injection pumps that are modified by Delphi will be identified by the addition of X04 to the identification plate.
