Residual brake oil/stop light circuit |
The components of the residual brake oil/stop light circuit are the residual brake oil pressure indicator, the left stop light, the right stop light, and the residual brake oil/stop light pressure switches.

With the key start switch in the ON position, 24 volt power is supplied from the batteries via circuit breaker 15 to residual brake oil/stop light pressure switches (4).
When the brake pedal is depressed or the retarder is activated, the brake oil pressure increases. As the brake oil pressure increases, residual brake oil/stop light pressure switches (4) are activated. 24 volt power is then supplied to illuminate left stop light (2), right stop light (3), and residual brake oil pressure indicator (1). When the brake pedal is released the brake oil pressure decreases, residual brake oil/stop tail light pressure switches (4) de-activate and left stop light (2), right stop light (3) and residual brake oil pressure indicator (1) turn off.
If the brake oil pressure does not decrease to a preset pressure, residual brake oil pressure indicator (1) will remain on to alert the operator.
