Usage:

Upper Hitch Bearing Installation Procedure


Upper Hitch Bearing

1. Install lower outer ring (1) into bearing housing and drive down to ensure contact.

2. Lubricate the bearing surface of the ring. Coat bearing surface of inner ring (3) with lubricant and install. Install spacer ring (2).

3. Install top outer ring (4) and drive it down to ensure light contact pressure on spacer (2).

4. Install seal (9) in cap (5) and install cap using six bolts and washers (6). Install seal (9) to frame.

Lower Hitch Bearing Installation Procedure


Lower Hitch Bearing

1. Install lower outer ring (1) into bearing housing with crossholes perpendicular (if crossholes are present) to machine centerline. Drive the ring down to ensure contact with the bottom of the bearing housing.

2. Lubricate the bearing surface of the ring. Coat bearing surface of inner ring (3) with lubricant and install. Install spacer ring (2).

3. Install top outer ring (4) and drive it down to ensure light contact pressure on spacer (2).

4. Place cap (5) in position. Do NOT secure cap (5) with bolts and washers at this time.

5. Measure the gap 360° around between cap (5) and bearing housing. Record the minimum measurement.

Install shim (7) of minimum measurement under cap (5). Install seal (12) in cap (5). Install cap (5) using all bolts and washers (6) and tighten to 70 ± 10 N·m (52 ± 7 lb ft). Install spacer (13). Install seal (12) to frame.

Hitch Pins Installation Procedure

1. Install spacer (14) for lower hitch pin. Install lower hitch pin (8) and attach plate (9) using three bolts and washers (10) located in the center of pin and tighten to 70 ± 10 N·m (52 ± 7 lb ft).

2. Measure gap 360° around between frame and plate (9). Record the minimum measurement. Install shim (11) of minimum measurement under plate. Install plate (9) using all bolts and washers (10) and tighten.

3. Connect the steering frame lock link.

4. Install upper pin (7) in the upper hitch group.

5. Install bolt and washer (8) through pin assembly (7) to frame.

6. Lubricate upper and lower hitch assembly prior to articulating machine.

7. Disconnect the steering frame lock link.
